A Time to Shine
You know it can always be a time to shine. Life can be constant self-improvement as we steadily grow into the best version of ourselves…. To be over-written by the next best version as it comes along! Every day holds these possibilities.
Many people think that being young is the time to shine, but it is not confined to any particular age. You haven’t missed the boat just because you are middle-aged, or older. Possibilities to reach our best do not have to be stopped by age – we still have purpose as we get older! We might not want to be an Olympic runner or do something else that is more suited for a young body, but we do all still have possibilities, and they do not need to pass us by.
For instance: Nelson Mandela became the first democratically elected President of South Africa, aged 76, Doris Lessing won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2007 aged 87, Michelangelo designed the Basilica at 72, JRR Tolkien, at 62, wrote the first of his masterpiece trilogy Lord of the Rings in 1954… and the list goes on…..
The world can always be your oyster, but it depends on how you view it and what you allow yourself to think and do. But whether we are old or young we can find those possibilities and opportunities that make us tick, and guide us to our next goal. And remember our goals can be the size we want, and they can be as simple or as complicated as we want…..
Doing things we want to do and learning things we want to learn all help us become our personal best. Let’s not compare ourselves to others, it is seldom relevant. Always remember you are the master of you, so you can be what you want to be, and find that best version….. even if you might want to upgrade it tomorrow!
Be you, be fantastic!
